I recently got enrolled in a Graduate Diploma for Family Medicine for career advancement. A doctors’ life is nonstop studying thats for sure. It’s funny that I spent most of my life in school and even when I am now working, I still go to school (on several weekends), hehe. But in order to improve and do better, we need to update, learn and relearn. At times, it can be exciting, just the thought of doing adult learning with a bunch of professionals just like you, exchanging ideas. But at times, you think, “I thought after my medical boards I am done with studying?“Hahaha!
Here are some back-to-school movies that might inspire people that gone back to school just like me…
LEGALLY BLONDE
Elle Woods (played perfectly by Reese Witherspoon), a bubbly sorority queen, was dumped by her boyfriend who is going off to law school. She decided to win his heart back but following him to law school. Initially she was stereotyped as a ‘dumb blonde’ by her classmates but she proved her classmates & professors wrong. She started to excel in her classes. She may have gotten her ex-boyfriend attention back but she decided to date instead a much deserving intelligent guy. She also won her colleagues respect with her wit & determination. People should never judge a person just because she is fashionable, wears too much pink or talks silly.
VIEW FROM THE TOP
Donna Jensen (Gwyneth Paltrow) might be what you call ‘trailer trash’. She works in a supermart but she was inspired to reach her deam, she decided to enrolled to be a flight attendant. She studied and work so hard while learning to be a stewardess. She might be one of your hated Type A classmates because she is too goody-goody. But you realize that being conscientious has its prize. Even with a few set backs, she managed to climb on top and even later, she pushed herself to follow another dream (to be pilot) and succeeded.
THE INTERNSHIP
The funny duo Vince Vaughn and Owen wilson are back with this new film. They are out-of-job two salesmen that decided to try their luck for an internship in Google against young intelligent, tech-savvy college students. They used their weakness (their age) to their advantage and educated the young generation that experience bets a lot of odds. This is a funny movie and cool glimpse of the Google offices. (Not sure if that is how it really looks like in Google? But it is so cool!)
Keep studying peeps!
