THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME

THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME

This week was pretty much a mellow week. I was aiming for an anti-rush & easy week. Time to kick off my shoes after work and relax at home with my hubby and Naj, attend mass on Wednesday and enjoy some rerun tv shows. I also felt my baby kicked really hard this week while I was working. I am currently on my 4th month of pregnancy and yes, my tummy is getting bigger & my clothes selection are getting lesser in my closet.

I found this article in Huffington Post that inspired me. I have seen artist Nidhi Chanani’s illustration circulating in Facebook but I haven’t really look into it. And when I did, I got moved. Her illustrations encapsulated my own idea of what real love really is. It is not about grand gestures or expensive purchases but cuddles at night, talking about silly things to deep conversations, sharing an inside joke only you two understand; being silent laying down in bed together, legs intertwined; back hugs when the other one is doing chores; a playful pat on a bottom to full-blown tickle fest, nonstop conversations when the lights are off…. It’s all in the little things, collectively that’s what makes memories beautiful. Love happens when souls connect…

My husband wanted to introduced Naj to WALL-E, a robot character from a 2008 Disney cartoon movie. When I was still pregnant, my hubby bought Naj a stuffed Wall-E toy. I haven’t really watched that cartoon movie so I didn’t really see the importance of this stuffed robot in our household. But a few nights ago, we watched the movie with Naj. WALL-E is one adorable robot who is in love with a sophisticated robot, EVE. It’s cute how these robots who don’t have emotions like human can make you feel things even if they talk in a slightly undecipherable drone voice. There was love and loyalty that was so endearing. There were humans in the film too. It is weird that this film was done in 2008 but somehow predicted what humans will be today. Humans are obese, cannot even walk, all sitting in a soft electronic chair with everything handed to them by electronic devices and all they do is stare at the hologram iPad-like screen in front of them, oblivious to their surrounding. How very us today, right?  Funny how robots taught human to look up from their electronic tablets and see the world around, find love, appreciate the surrounding and care for Mother Earth. I love the moral lesson of the movie.

This Saturday, I was privileged to attend the Blogger Babes Asia Workshop organised by Clozette. The speaker for the afternoon was the fabulous Heidi Nazarudin, Founder of Blogger Babes & behind the blog, The Ambitionista. She gave us wonderful pointers in improving our brand and honing our brand as influencers. I learned a lot that afternoon that I can’t wait to apply on my blog.
