My skin has been breaking out lately. I blame my exposure to the hot Singapore sun which causes my skin to be sweaty & patchy and of course, there is the usual suspect – stress. My skin needs rejuvenation and pampering badly. I am just too lazy to fix a spa appointment. Plus I prefer to just stay home and spend time with my kids. I would have loved to check out some natural skincare products at Sephora. Knowing me, I would spend tons of hours at Sephora and tagging my kids along for the trip would make them whine & complain. So I did the next best thing: ONLINE SHOPPING!
I am glad Sephora has an online shop. So I can shop for cosmetics and skincare products anywhere. It is easier for me, just order online the regular Sephora products that I use when it is running out. So one late night, while the kids are sleeping, I went on Sephora’s website and search for a natural skincare products. I don’t want any harsh or fancy ingredients. I wanted something that will nourish my skin, rejuvenate it and heal it from its dry & patchy condition. I have been looking tired lately so I need a very good eye cream ASAP.
I came across the brand, Origins. I made a pause. I have always heard about Origins for a long time now but I never gotten a catch to try it. I have always liked their simplistic Tree logo. So I headed to Mr. Google and did I research before purchasing.
Origins was found in the late 80’s and revolutionized the concept of beauty by going against the grain toward minimalism in an era of big hair, bright colorful eyes and chunky accessories. The company believed in the power of plants to create a high performance skincare. It seems to be the natural product that I am searching for. They use the best of nature to product high quality skincare products sourced from sustainable region. It is an American brand that is well-received in other countries as well. I was happy to know that they have collaborated with popular Integrative Wellness doctor, Dr. Andrew Weil. Origins just turned 25 in 2015 and continued to expand internationally in Poland and in the Philippines.
So I got an Origins moisturer, an eye cream, of course and several different face masks. Using the Sephora online interface was easy-peasy. I didn’t have any trouble in ordering for the stuff I wanted. After 4 days, I got a notification message on my phone that my Sephora products are on the way!
I was happy to open my parcel. I got the Origins Flower Fusion Sheet Mask, Origins Gin-Zing Energy-boosting Moisturiser, Origins Gin-Zing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff, Origins Drink Up 10 Minutes To Quench Skin’s Thirst, Origins Dr. Weil’s for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Mask, and Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer.
You see I bought a lot of masks. I have been loving my two weekly ritual of applying sheet masks. Though I have skipped several weeks of my mask ritual which may have resulted to the patchy texture of my skin. I got one sheet mask, Origins Flower Fusion Sheet Mask. I love that is thick unlike some soggy deformed sheet masks I have used before. I love the smell of it . It smell like flowers. After 20 minutes and I felt my face more smooth and supple.
I think the mask did a better job with skin because I added a maskimiser, Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer. I never heard of such before but I was curious and I wanted to try. I spritzed it on on face before I used the face mask and my skin feels fabulous. I really did made a difference.
I got two clay masks, Origins Drink Up 10 Minutes To Quench Skin’s Thirst and the Origins Dr. Weil’s for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Mask. I was excited to use the Dr. Weil Mask because I have heard so much good things about him. I used each mask two days apart from each other. The Origins Drink Up 10 Minutes To Quench Skin’s Thirst is in a creamy white moisturiser form mask. It locks in moisture on my face sufficiently. When I wash it off after 10 minutes, it was easily removed by water and I noted some of my breakouts dried out. It felt like I drank a gallon of water during the day. Origins Dr. Weil’s for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Mask I think is more superior. I felt it has even-out my patchy skin and healed most of my breakouts. It stink a bit though specially on the parts where I had breakouts. The smell is strong and it didn’t coat my face entirely like a clay-monster. reduced my redness and I love the texture of my skin after use. In fact, I use it every other night now.
I have been using the Origins Gin-Zing Energy-boosting Moisturiser and Origins Gin-Zing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff daily. And it looks like these two products will be included in my daily skincare routine. I love how the moisturiser makes my skin well-hydrated. I lather more when I sleep at night. I love its citrusy smell. It really made me feel energized. For eye cream, it is not of the same color as the moisturiser which is creamy milky white, instead it is in a beige flesh color that is great to wear under makeup under my eyes. It did remove some of the puffiness under my eyes.
I also heard about Origins having this #MaskMondays in their Facebook and Instagram. Every Monday they give away 3 of their best-selling mask.
