THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME

September 18, 2016 by Little Miss Honey 62 Comments

The past two weeks were relaxing and stress-free with more time to spend my sons. That just makes me happy. You get to realised that the most important things in life are your family and relationships. You get to appreciate things that you normally don’t realise that they are  actually blessings in your life. You get to sit back and let life unfold.

I been trying to be more healthy lately, hoping to lose my post-pregnancy weight gain. I been counting my calories using the app, Lifesum. Gosh! I didn’t realise that the post-work cookie or that morning java  and many other unsuspecting little foods or drink can be culprits to why I am not losing the unwanted pounds. I also try to make my diet more plant-based and I prefer to buy organic foods. So I was excited when I was on of the bloggers invited by Quan Fa Organic Farm to visit their farm in Murai Farmway.  I will be blogging about my visit soon.

Sundays are family day. Luckily, my hubby gets his off-day on a Sunday. Last Sunday, we made Fynn try a baby spa at Beauty.Mums & Babies at Paragon which he enjoyed a lot. I will write about his experience soon for those parents who wants to make their kids try the baby spa service too.

Here are a round-up of links I found online that inspired me:

How to be a chill mom

Words of wisdom from my kasimanwa and now youngest Filipino billionaire

I hope all of you are doing great….

GOING ORGANIC WITH NATURE’S GLORY

August 13, 2016 by Little Miss Honey 439 Comments

Nature's Glory

I have been seeing a lot of people who are shifting towards organic products to achieve a healthier lifestyle. We have become aware that a lot of the foods and products we take and use on our bodies doesn’t come from natural sources rather most of the things now came from laboratories or are chemically-engineered. Celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Alicia Silverstone, Kristin Cavallari shed a light of awareness to the public on the importance of going organic and staying away from GMO (genetically-modified organisms) products. I recently bought Kristin Cavallari’s book, Balancing on Heels and I am sold on living the organic, non-GMO lifestyle.

So, I was happy to be one of the bloggers who was invited to the Organic Workshop hosted by Nature’s Glory, one of the leading organic shop in Singapore 2 weeks ago. It was held in their showroom at Tan Boon Liat Building. It was my chance to learn more about going organic and living a healthy lifestyle.

Nature’s Glory products are 100% no chemical, no pesticides and no GMOs which passed the standard of auditors from NASAA, an Australian and International Organic Certifier. Their fresh produce are delivered weekly to ensure its freshness. All products are chosen carefully to provide the best for Nature’s Glory’s customers.

I delighted to meet the Founder & CEO of Nature’s Glory, Mr. Peter Lim & his lovely family that night. Mr. Lim revealed to us how Nature’s Glory, that was started on 1991, came about. He used to be a very sickly man but after discovering a healthier lifestyle using organic products, his health had a 360 degree shift. He realized the beauty of organic products and decided to share it to the people in Singapore by starting Nature’s Glory which retails a wide variety of organic products from fresh produce, soymilk, noodles, snacks, soaps, etc. Being a Christian man, he believes that it is God’s divine providence that lead him to this business. His principles for his business are heavily steams on his Christian values. He makes sure his products are authentic and of good quality for his customers. He is a very jolly and charismatic guy. It is so nice to listen to him talk. He radiates an aura of happiness, enthusiasm and health.

Peter’s  wife, Wendy, was there too. She was so nice & gracious to serve us with her laksa made from their own products of Quinoa Udon & Bonsoy Soymilk. I was enjoying the laksa so much. I was happy to note that it didn’t make me bloat like most noodle dishes. I have to stop myself from getting a second bowl of laksa.

Peter’s daughter-in-law also made some yummy Matcha Adzuki Bonsoy muffins and vegetable soup using only organic vegetables from Nature’s Glory. And we had coffee with Bonsoy for drinks. I had one with a Tumeric Mix which is great for circulation, heart burn and I heard also, weight loss.

We also got to look around the Nature’s Glory Showroom after the talk. It is a haven for health-conscious people. There are a lot of interesting  products that I haven’t seen in grocery stores. I can’t wait to bring my health-advocate friends there.

Let us talk about Bonsoy for a moment….

Bonsoy

I am just loving this wonderful discovery. I am lactose-intolerant so I stir clear of milk as far as I can. So Bonsoy is a good substitute for milk. It is made from organically grown soybeans with added tapioca syrup and Job’s tear. It tasted light, midly-sweet and doesn’t have that usual “nutty” taste of soy. In the workshop, it was used in the laksa, muffin and coffee. You can use it also on smoothies, soups and oatmeal. Or you can just add ice and viola, a refreshing healthy drink. It is a versatile product with a lot of health benefits e.g. prevents cancer, lower bad cholesterol and increases calcium in the bone.

MUMMYBEBE TOXIN-FREE BABY PRODUCTS (GIVEAWAY PROMO)

July 6, 2016 by Little Miss Honey 46 Comments

mummybebe

Being a mom, I became more cautious of the products that I use for my kids. With my first baby, I realized he was so sensitive with harsh products. So ever since I use only gentle and toxin-free for my babies, be it their bath soap, laundry detergent and bottle cleanser. Hunting for baby-friendly products in several stores can be time-consuming for a full-time working mom like me. Thank God for online store!

I am glad to find Mummybebe, an online store that provides mommies reliable baby-safe products from Singapore,  HongKong,  Taiwan, Australia and France. They got Farlin Baby, Bright Bots, Bubba Blue, Galipette, Farlink, HopZalong, and Karibu.

I am very particular with the cleanser I use for my babies’ milk bottles and parts for my breast pump  as well the detergent I use for their clothes. My eldest has the most sensitive skin so I prefer a hypoallergenic detergent to wash his clothes.

I am familiar with Farlin products even before I am a mom. It is an established brand since 1972 which ion high quality and well-loved by the public. I was happy to try out the their baby liquid cleanser and baby clothing detergent.

Farlin Baby Liquid Cleanser

Farlin Clean 2.0 Baby Clothes Wash has a mild hypoallergenic formula that won’t irritate my babies’ skin. It is made from plant-based cleaning agent. It is also eco-friendly. It can remove stain really well without leaving resides on the clothes. I like the smell of the clothing wash. It resembles the fresh smell of babies. This product is recognised by ECOCERT. It is not tested on animals and it is phosphate-free & phosphorus-free.

Farlin Bottle Detergent

Farlin Clean 2.0 Baby Bottle Wash is similar to Farlin Clean 2.0 Baby Clothes Wash that it is eco-friendly and contains organic and natural products. Its acidity level which is PH5.5 is good for the skin. It is certified by FDA and is also phosphate-fee, phosphorus-free & fluorescense-free. It effectively removes the milk-residue in my sons’ milk bottles and my breastmilk pump parts without leaving a harsh smell. In fact, it smells like a wonderful fruity scent. I also use it to wash my fruits. I just put my fruits in a clean bowl. I put water  enough to cover it and drop a tablespoon of this and rinse.

I am now a fan of Farlin products. Are you interested in getting these baby-safe products? You can head on to Mummybebe to get these and check out their other products.
