THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

Foot Soak Flare Wellness

This week was a very productive week for me. On Tuesday, I headed to Bugis Cube for the first of three facial sessions with Flare Wellness for our collaboration for Project Transformation. Watch out for that on my blog. It was such a wonderful experience. I felt so relaxed and I even dozed off. It started off with a relaxing foot soak. I will tell you more about it soon.

Though unfortunately after the session, I got stranded in Bugis because MRT broke down and I have to catch a bus along with a lot of people, tired and anxious to get home too. But after two hours of two bus rides, I was finally home. It’s all well that ends well. Read this beautiful article about the train breakdown last Tuesday.

The very next day, it was nice to unwind with a work colleague and headed to Changi Village for dinner, chats about life & plans and this cute 3D Art Iced Latte at Chock Full of  Beans.

This week also I am privileged to meet two of the most popular & distinguished food bloggers here in Singapore: Dr. Leslie Tay, family physician & author of www.ieatishootipost.sg and Daniel Ang, fitness instructor, lecturer & author of www.danielfooddiary.com.

I met them both on two separate occasions and both gave out tips on blogging. I am a fan of their food blogs and after meeting them, I  developed an even deeper admiration & respect for the two gentlemen. I learned  a lot from both of them. I just met Daniel yesterday. Tampines 1 Mall organised 20 lucky persons to be part of the Art of Food Blogging workshop with Daniel Food Diary.

It was a fun afternoon of learning, eating and meeting new people. The foods were amazing! Take a look!

And the best part of my week? It is always will be my baby boy. I am growing more and more in love with this little man. He is so funny and very determined (hahaha, where did he inherited that?). He managed to take 3 steps on his own yesterday. Oh, I am such a proud momma. I wish my hubby saw it too.

Early this week, I attended a blogger event hosted by The Entertainer App launching their Hot Summer Nights hotel promotion. I am so excited about this new promotion. I can use it for our upcoming trip to Kuala Lumpur. Super great savings! Also this week, Naj turned 11 months. Wow! Times flies so fast. He is turning one next month!

Day by day, I am so in love with this little boy. I love to see his face light up when I go home from work. He enjoys cuddling up with me when he is ready to sleep. His smiles, his laughter, his squeals, and his indecipherable babble brings so much joy to me and my husband. He seems to be in his happiest when we, three, are complete.

THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

May 10, 2015 by Little Miss Honey 250 Comments

When I was once a single unmarried medical student, I was looking forward to become a wife. I think I would love and enjoying being a wife. But the thought of being a mother terrifies me. I am afraid I will mess up. I am afraid that I am not built to be a mommy.

Few years and two zip code changes later, I have in my arms the most precious gift God has given me. I never know how wonderful it feels to be a mother. I never knew I could love someone so much that I fear my heart is going to burst. I didn’t know how happy I can be just to hear my little one giggle or get a hug from him.

By far, being a mother is even more rewarding than being a wife. You will get to understand the real meaning of unconditional love. I have never realized my strength and my capacity to love until I became a mother.

Motherhood is not for the faint-hearted. Travelling alone in the city with a 10-months old infant is not really glamorous. I am carrying to many bags with added weight of my baby while having the risk of getting my hair pulled in public or my skirt raising up from struggling with a rambunctious infant. You will be a queen of multitasking by caring for your baby, cleaning room, cooking dinner and additional personal tasks after you are done with the office (or in my case, in the clinic). Those are few of the challenges of being a mom. But its all worth it, without a sliver of a doubt.

Today is my first Mother’s Day. I love being a mother. It is blessing that God bestowed upon me. I am honored to be Naj’s mommy.

This morning when we woke up, Naj flashed me a big smile, slide closer to me and smiled again. Then he went back to sleep. He felt happy and safe in my embrace. That feeling is the most wonderful feeling in the world that would eclipsed all the Disney love stories ever told.

I want to take this time to also greet my mother, “Happy Mother’s Day!”. My mama is the strongest woman I know. As a mother now, I understand her even more. She love like no other and everything she has done, she done for us. And now that I am a wife and a mom, I will have to say, “Mama, You were right. You were always right. ” I am grateful for your unceasing guidance and support. Thank you for never giving up on me.

I would all like to say Happy Mother’s Day to my mother-in-law-my sexy mama,  my aunt whom I call my mommy, my sisters-in -law,  my mentors who are like my mothers too and to all the friends who are mother & mothers-to-be. You are awesome!

Mommies, this day is for us. We may not be perfect and we are doing it the best way we know how with overflowing love. From another struggling mom to another, I say, “Great job, mommy!”
