INSPIRATIONAL SUNDAY: MEGAN YOUNG IS MISS WORLD 2013

October 6, 2013 by Little Miss Honey 710 Comments

Last Saturday, our Philippine representative, Miss Megan Young won the coveted title of Miss World 2013. Out of all the 127 contestants, Miss Young wowed the judges and audience by her beauty, poise and intelligence. It was without a question that she is deserving of the crown.

Megan Young Miss World Philippines 2013

Putting aside the issue of Megan Young’s the sexy photoshoot in a magazine (though I don’t think it was at all phonographic and it was done in a tasteful way), it makes me think that what Megan Young is projecting and the qualities that she is representing & embodying right now is what young women should be emulating. She is a good role model for young women of today. She is beautiful but doesn’t come off arrogant. She is has poise and grace. She answers questions confidently and shows her intelligence, wit, kindness and sincerity. Even in her BBC News interview, she showed the world that behind that beautiful face and amazing figure is a woman with a brain and a heart.

It is good to have a role model like this for young women of today that puts value on a woman who is respectable, intelligent, kind and ladylike. It is heartbreaking to see that now   that what young girls admire today are by the likes of Miley Cyrus, Rihinna, Nikki Minaj and a lot more. Oh millions of parents are shuddering right now. These celebrities are no doubt hot and talented but they convey a bad message to the youth that it is cool to be objectified as sex objects, flaunt all your lady parts for everyone to see and act unladylike in public by giving people the finger or humping a pole. They project that it is fun to swear and cuss. They make people think that it is okay to devalue themselves by going back to their men that have hurt them and abused them. (Wrong move, Riri!). If he has done it before, would you think he will never hurt and abuse you again?

bad influence

Call me old fashion but the world needs more beauty queens, princesses and ballerinas. Scrap the hypocrisy, bulimia, blandness, and anorexia that these titles may have been given a bad rap but these archetypes are must more of value than drunk & stoned celebrities & record artists. Ask majority of men out there. They would prefer ladylike and elegant women to dirty rude b%^&#s. Nice girls finish last and they are usually the ones men take home to meet their parents.

Thank you, Megan Young for showing the world how a real admirable woman should be. Congratulations! We are so proud of you. Mabuhay!
