I didn’t get into the trend before when people would post selfies holding a Magnum Ice Cream (and a follow up post of the remaining magnum ice cream stick, hehe). I was aware of the existence of Magnum ice cream during my highschool days in Saudi Arabia when my siblings and I would buy from the neighborhood store. But I admire how Magnum marketed the product in the Philippines. It is pure genius! It was such a hit! Magnum became a commodity for the posh and classy. Everyone wants a piece (or two) of it (oblivious to the calories). We have the sexy and alluring Solenn Heusaff as the brand ambassadress alongside fellow buddies, Raymond Gutierrez and Liz Uy. Watching them wave a Magnum ice cream does make someone (or everyone) crave for it.
Magnum has recently launch two new flavors: Magnum Pink Marc de Champagne and Magnum Black Espresso here in Singapore. I am not sure if it is already marketed in the Philippines.
Magnum Pink Marc de Champagne
It looks lovely and girly right? However for a gal like me who isn’t much of a drinker, this ice cream has a strong taste of alcohol. I have never tasted champagne before or if I did took a sip before, I must have forgotten how it tasted. But if this how champagne taste, hmmm, I guess I wouldn’t be a fan of the beverage.
MAGNUM BLACK ESPRESSO
For those who like their coffee strong and black, this one is for you. It’s like an ice cream for the manly man. I could imagine Vin Diesel biting into this ice cream and still wouldn’t look like a wimp. I prefer this flavour to the pink one. (Does that make me a manly man? Hahaha!) I love dark chocolate and this ice cream taste like a cross between very strong dark chocolate & coffee. But of course if I were to choose among all the Magnum flavors, I still prefer Magnum Almond.
