THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

Things that inspired me this week

This week, I met up with my girls for our monthly dine out. K and I brought our hubbies and our toddlers with us to Buffet Town. We enjoyed the wide variety of food that was there. I was particularly happy with the mussel soup. It was yummy and buttery. And the best thing about the soup is that it upped my breastmilk supply when I got home. Fynn is one happy baby! We, parents, were also happy that Buffet Town provided a big space for kids to play. Naj and Iyah  enjoyed themselves a lot there. I wasn’t able to take photos of the food we had in Buffet Town but K was able to take a photo of our kids in the play area of Buffet Town.

This week, I got to try again the new trending app, Snapchat, by the encouragement of fellow Filipina Singapore blogger, myfarradise. I tried the app before and I totally didn’t get it. But Farrah said it is a fun app and I should try it. She said my toddler would love it and she was right! Here are some of my snapchat stories:

I love the fun and cute functions of the app. It is a tool I can use to keep Naj entertained and distracted when he is in his cranky moods. You can take photos & videos and they get deleted after 24 hours. I haven’t been following a lot other snap chatters yet. Any suggestions? Follow me at Snapchat: LittleMissHoney.

I was privileged to observe a class for kids in People Impact. I am currently searching for a play-based programme to send Naj when he turns 3-years old. I am so happy with what I saw in the class in People Impact. I am excited when Naj will soon start going to his playgroup classes. I will be blogging about it soon. Watch out for it because there will be a good news for parents who are looking for playgroup classes.

I am so happy that my breastmilk supply is increasing. Lots of water, oatmeal cookies, salmon, clams, and soup are my weapons. I pray it will keep its adequate supply until Fynn turns 1 year old.

havaroma

I won a free aromatherapy from Havaroma for posting the best picture with their AromaStick a few months ago.  Last Wednesday, I finally attended the aromatherapy conducted by the Founder of Havaroma. I chose the Moms & Moms-To-Be Aromatherapy Workshop. I learned so much about aromatherapy that day and I was happy to make my own cleaning spray, sleep diffuser and hand sanitiser using essential oils.

On a Friday, I was happy to invited to the Cine65 Awards Ceremony. I got to witness the amazing short films entries made by pudding filmmakers that tells heartfelt stories of Singapore. I also got to see some of local celebrities that graced the event. It was also great to be there with HydeBluePark and see Frannywanny & Lunarrive again.

5 TOPICS YOU SHOULD AVOID TALKING WITH YOUR MAN (P.S. THEY DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT)

March 20, 2015 by Little Miss Honey 946 Comments

Relationship rules say that partners should communicate and tell each other everything. But there are few topics that women should stop talking about to their men. Believe me, they are tired of hearing about it but are just too scared of a women’s fury to tell you to shut up. But woman to woman, I hope you hear me out. Here are the 5 things men find irritating to listen to:

1. YOUR WEIGHT

One of the dreaded question of men is when their partner ask them, “Darling, am I fat?” This is a double-edged sword question for men. If they say “no”, you’ll think they are lying and if they say “yes, you’ll get upset. The best way for this is just to ask a well-meaning honest close friend for an opinion. Or better yet, if you know for a fact you, indeed, gained weight, just do you’re best to lose the pounds without making your boyfriend/husband suffer with that deadly question.

2. YOUR PAST/ EXES

Stop bringing into the conversation your past or your exes. Stop the comparison. It is very annoying and discouraging to hear stories of the past and especially your exes. Men hardly talks about them. (Tip: If he do mention his ex too often, then maybe he still have feelings for her). Because for men, past is the past. And past should remain in the past.

3. GIRLY GOSSIPS

Men occasionally likes to hear interesting stories but don’t bombard him of silly talks about your-officemates-bestfriends-latest-schinanigans or your old-schoolmate-lastest-hook-up. If you start a lengthy unnecessary  story of a girl you know (which he didn’t even met) and her interesting (for you it is) current life story with your boyfriend/husband, I guarantee you, he is already zoning you out and thinking of his latest NBA draft. Don’t bother your men for girly gossips, that’s what galpals are for.

4. YOUR LATEST FAVORITE TV SERIES

You are in luck if you and your partner like the same type of shows. But some women prefers romantic /drama while men loves to watch sport or action series. So if you are hoping to covert your boyfriend/husband to be a “Girls” or “Hart of Dixie” fanatic by giving him a blow-by-blow account of the plot from episode 1 to 13, all your efforts will be in vain, I tell you.

5. YOUR ADMIRERS

Men are visually-stimulated so one reason why he is with you, aside from your many other great qualities, is that he find you aesthetically-pleasing. So rest assured, he finds you attractive already. But for you to tell him, your almost everyday encounter of people who tells you that you are pretty or finds you beautiful or men who gets your number or is crushing on you, it can get irritating. Ok, you still  have to tell your man if someone is seriously pursuing you because that is a different story. But if it is just those minor pass that you want to tell your boyfriend/husband more to brag or announce to him that “you are so lucky, baby”. He knows that he is already, you don’t need to prove it to him. Admiration is best when it comes from other people mouth and not from your mouth. It is more attractive that way. If someone approach him and say, ‘You are so lucky, you got a pretty wife’, he will be more proud of you that those words coming from you.

Do you have any topics to add in the list? Any objection from men out there? True or False?

P.S. Yes, in one time or the other, I am guilty of these too… Sorry, Hubby….

*Disclaimer: may not hold true to all men but majority of men would agree to this.
