I was invited this week to product launch of KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit. I had fun meeting old & new bloggers in the while we show a bit of our cooking skills in making our very own noodles & throwing in additional ingredients to prettify our bowls. I will blog more about the KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit soon.

I am happy to add that I am one of the winners that night for the contest of the prettiest bowl of noodles. The bowl of laksa tasted so yummy too!

Also this week, I was happy to reunite with an old schoolmate in elementary school. Naj & Fynn was invited in my schoolmate’s son’s 1st birthday. It was held in a very kid-friendly restaurant, BricksNCubes Restaurant in The Cathay. Naj had a ball of a time. It has a corner for kids to play Lego bricks and you can stuck up lego brings in walls and tables. It is such a fun restaurant to go to.

This week, Fynn turned 2-months! We always celebrate every month-sary birthday of our kids until after they turn 1 year. It is also a good excuse to eat cake, hehe… We got him a chocolate truffle cake. His big brother got to be the one to enjoy eating it though, hehe…

By midweek, the family headed to Siglap to the cafe where my colleague took me & Fynn to celebrate a Welcome-Back dinner. The Royal’s Cafe is  a perfect restaurant for kids. Besides the fact that they serve the best meesiam I have ever tasted and wide variety of cakes, they also a nice corner for kids to play. Naj had a great time there and doesn’t want to leave the kiddie corner. I will be blogging about the place soon.

Oh, this week, Philippines got a new president. He maybe an unconventional character but the people has spoken. He has proven himself to be an effective mayor in Davao  City so I guess, we can wait and see and  for now, we should support him in leading our country. We are here for you, Pres. Duterte!

This Sunday, I made a Filipino breakfast and added twist to the usual recipe. I made Champorado – chocolate rice pudding. I made it for Naj’s breakfast and he loves it a lot! Yippee!

Brown Rice Champorado with Almonds

I got the recipe from Eat Clean Love by The Sexy Chef. Heat up 1 cup of milk and add cooked brown rice. Then blend the rice mixture into a coarse puree. Then put back the pureed rice into the casserole, heat up with another 1 cup of milk, tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar for 5 minutes. Then drizzle with evaporated or condensed milk and chopped almonds or walnuts. Bon Apetit!
