KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit Launch

I am a busy doctor and a mom of two young kids so meal-planning can be a bit challenging for me. I now prefer easy quick  healthy meals for my family. Noodles are one of the best go-to meals for a busy working mom or a busy college student. Instant noodles has recently been getting a bad rap from the media about how unhealthy it is and how much loaded with preservatives it has. But I discovered that not all noodles are unhealthy or contain preservatives.

I was invited to the launch of KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit 2 weeks ago. Heritage Brand Tan Seng Kee Foods Pte Ltd (TSK  Food) launched the KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit last  12 April 2016. It is a pasteurized fresh noodles with freshly ground spice paste pack  featuring three favorite local dishes: Prawn Mee, Curry Mee & Laksa.

Behind KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit are the friendly, hardworking & humble owners/directors, Raymond & Annie Tan, who had come up with a noodles for busy people but still keep it fresh & healthy, whom I am happy to meet that day.

The launch was help in Culinary On. TSK Foods has a lovely set-up in the event room. There was an interactive board where we took photos of ourselves, slurping a hot bowl of noodles. There was also a table where we can try and touch the texture of the noodles.

There was also several stations where the noodles were prepared and there was a table with several plates & bowls of garnishing. The room was enveloped with delicious aroma and I was getting hungrier by the minute. I believe we all were getting hungry from the yummy smell emitting from the pot of cooked noodles. There were refreshments available too with some finger foods to go with the noodles.

There was also on one corner where there are a bowl each of Prawn Mee, Curry Mee & Laksa that was nicely presented. I was stopping myself from taking digging a spoon into the bowl to taste.

The host for the night was Cheryl, who introduced to us the directors of the  TSK Food and gave us an introduction of KangKang Noodles Express Kit.

KangKang noodles uses the state of the art pasteurisation technology to produce fresh noodles that can prolong shelf life of 30 days without refrigeration and up to 6 months when chilled. All are made of natural ingredients and devoid of any preservatives. The noodle does not require blanching or washing.

KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit can be prepared in just a few minutes either by microwave or stove. Cheryl and her partner showed us how to cook it in microwave and stove.

Cheryl showed how to cook the meal kit in the microwave by doing these 3 steps:

1. Place water (follow recommended amount on packaging)  into the bowl and add fresh spice paste provided in each meal kit. Mix well.

2. Add fresh noodles

3. Microwave in HIGH for 4 minutes and serve.

Cheryl’s partner showed us how to cook over the stove by doing these 3 simple steps:

1. Empty the fresh spice paste provided in each mea kit containing water (follow recommended amount on packaging)

2. Mix well and bring to a boil.

3. Once it comes to the boil, add fresh noodles and simmer to another 2 minutes before serving.

You can also use the QR code on the packaging to view the animated video showing how to do the preparation.

Then comes what we all been waiting for, to try the different noodles. We were each given bowls of the three types of noodles. My favorite was the laksa. I like the prawn mee too. The curry mee was a bit too spicy for me but spicy-lovers would definitely like this one. I was already so full from the three little bowls of noodles.

Some tried their hand in making their own KangKang noodles. There was also a friendly contest for the night for those who can make one of the pretty bowl of noodles by adding some garnishing that was available.

I made my own noodles. I picked Laksa, of course. I have always love laksa. I used to travel 1 hour to Katong just for a bowl of laksa, now I don’t need to travel to satisfy my cravings. This is my finished product:

Guess what? I was one of the winners of the Pretty Bowl Contest!

KangKang Noodles Express Meal Kit cost only $2.95 each. I can store it in my kitchen pantry when I need a quick meal to cook for dinner or I can even put in my office drawer for a fast microwavable lunch meal. These will definitely be a constant item in my kitchen pantry for sure.
