This week started with a meet-up with my fellow Pinay doctor galpals for a Ramen Night. Then next day, we celebrated Fynn’s 5th month celebration with a cake, of course which coincidentally was National Singapore Day& our nanny’s advanced birthday celebration. Triple celebrations! So the whole week was a high carb which left me in a pretty bad mood. I always feel bloated with dry pimply skin plus a sulky mood if I ingest too much simple carbohydrate food. Not too mention, I feel so fat too. Yes, it would taste great & good for a few minutes but the end results leave me feeling very bad. Though I feel much better with complex carbs like quinoa and wholegrain or wholemeal.
So I decided to be more conscious with my simple sugar/carb intake. I should substitute it to healthier carbs. I also want to go back to my vegetarian diet love affair. I have always felt better after eating a more plant-based diet and I lost weight after 2 months with it. So I said I better stick to it now and just have occasional meat once a week for cheat day.

I have been constantly watching UK Vlogger, Niomi Smart’s Youtube channel for inspiration. She is on plant-based diet and I love her What I Eat in a Day videos. She has written a book called Eat Smart which will be out on September. I can’t wait! Good luck to me for trying a more healthy and plant-based diet starting now.
Here are a round-up of links I found online that inspired me this week:
