BlogMeetSg x Pure Yoga

I was excited to be invited again to another #BlogMeetSg organized by the lovely Lucy of Lulabelle Lifestyle.

Let me tell you more about BlogMeetSg first. BlogMeetSg was started by Lucy to give opportunities for bloggers in Singapore and local brands to network and create a harmonious relationship in and out of the blogosphere.  Because of BlogMeetSg, I got to meet amazing bloggers that  I have collaborated with projects that are continuing until now and developed wonderful relationships with brands and sponsors. Due to the success of the first ever BlogMeetSg last February 2015 held at Edit Lifestyle, BlogMeetSg  is back and there won’t be just one BlogMeetSg but two this August!

  BlogMeetSg x Pure Yoga

Last Thursday, BlogMeetSg was set at Pure Yoga in Ngee Ann City. My choice of exercise have always been yoga and dancing/aerobics. So I was happy to take part of this BlogMeetSg gathering in Pure Yoga. I have been in love with yoga for a few years though I would practice Hatha yoga intermittently at home. I also enjoy Birkam Yoga which really surprises me actually.

Headed by Lucy, 30 bloggers gathered to enjoy one hour session with Yogi Kristin Khor.

It was my first time in Pure Yoga and I love the ambience. Yoga mats were reay for us in the yoga room and in each mat has a small bottle of Peppermint essential oil. The walls and mirrors of the yoga room have decals of #BlogMeetSg which I think is very cool.

Peppermint Essential Oil

At 7 PM, we met Yogi Kristin K. She gave us a little bit of introduction of yoga that we were doing for that night: Jivamukti Yoga. I have never tried that kind of yoga.  Jivamukti have 5 tenents : Shastra (Spiritual Reading) , Bhakti (Devotion), Ahisma (Kindness) , Nada (Music) and Dhyana (Meditation).  It is a flowing, dynamic form of Hatha Yoga that starts and ends with chanting with a little bit of soft music in the background.

Before the class officially started, we met Nana Lim of Essential Oils Remedies to let us sample the Peppermint Oil on our mats. She asked us to pour a drop on our palms, rub our palms together and inhale the oil diffusing from our palm. We immediately felt refreshed and energised. There was an electric diffuser emitting peppermint oils throughout the class.

Kristin started the class with an inspirational pep talk and chanted & sang “om“s and “shanti“s. Kristin’s talking voice was very sexy. I wish I can record it for my morning meditation and yoga practice to set my morning for a great start. She exudes a confident, positive and calm disposition. Her chanting voice was melodic and relaxing.

Then we through a flow series of Hatha Yoga. We did a lot of Downward Dog, Cobra Pose, Boat Pose, Side Planks and Warrior Poses.

We challenged ourselves to do a perfect Bow Pose and Full Bridge.

I was surprised I sweated a lot but I feel invigorated. I just love yoga so much!  I would say I have found my type of yoga. I am now a Jivamukti Yoga fan. The chanting, the music, the meditation, the flow series…. I am all for it.

After the session, there was a lucky draw for the very blessed blogger who will win a shopping spree of gym clothes from Pure Apparel. And the winner is: my mat neighbour Pearly Tan of PearlyWerkz. I am so happy for her!

I like the  Coconut water a lot. It’s perfect  drink to quench your thirst after a workout. I am also loving the dark chocolates.

We got to check out the Pure Apparel that are displayed in the lobby. Pearly is one lucky gal! I also got the chance to see the outfit she picked out and I think it is a great choice. Head over to Lulabelle Lifestyle blog to see what Pearly chose.
