The start of my January produced a very sickly old me. This week, I was down with flu, irritable cough and a horrible laryngitis but I forced myself to work still because I know it will be a busy week at work. There are old doctors leaving to go for another postings and new ones to train. But even with a little sniffling nose, I manage to smile when your Monday is greeted with this sweet treat from a colleague going to a new posting.

cupcake from Plain Vanilla

This is a cupcake from Plain Vanilla. I wanted to try their cupcakes before but never got the chance. They have this cute shop in Tiong Bahru which I hope to visit soon.

It was also time for Naj’s last dose of his 6in1 vaccination. We were so happy that he growing so tall and heavy now. He can fit into his white Converse sneakers that his Tita Cath gave him and that we found his green dragon neck pillow again (Thanks Aunt Ping!)

Naj

I am such a proud mama that he just let out a yelp when the vaccine syringe hit his thigh then no more cries. Such  brave little boy! I cannot emphasise enough how important it is  to get our kids vaccinated. Don’t believe the lie spreading around about vaccinations are bad for our children.

Here are a round-up of links I found online that inspired me this week that you might enjoy too:

Ways to build your child’s focus and attention span.

I will be off to mass soon and we will later go to a little barbecue party for our housemate’s mom’s birthday, And yes, I am feeling much better. Thank you very much.

THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

christmas 2014

Christmas Day finally came by. It was spent peacefully with my family. My husband and I reflected on how lucky we are to be together with our son on Christmas Day. We had some pineapple chicken, nachos with dips, macaroni salad and ice cream. But we can’t stay up too late because it was pass our son’s sleeping time, hehe…

christmas 2014

Christmas is Jesus special day, I realise the importance of going back to God, how our lives must be centered towards Him and for Him. I am inspired by these two special women who was enlightened and followed God’s guidance in their lives. I deeply admire their love for God and even made me start renewing my relationship to our Lord.

Leah Darrow is a previous America’s Next Top Model contestant in Cycle 3 but was eliminated early on in the show. While struggling as model in New York, she got a big break to model for a raucy fashion spread. In that photoshoot she got an epiphany that she was not pleasing our Lord with her actions, she left and decided to live a Christ-centered life from that point on. Now, she is a speaker for young women on real love, modesty and faith. She is a devote Catholic, married to a nice guy and mommy to a cute little girl with another one on the way. She inspires young women from all around the globe to live a Christ-like life.

St. Rita of Cascia, is an Italian saint known to be the patron of impossible causes. She was married off young to a cruel and immoral man, which she later bore two sons. Through her fervent prayers, she manage to convert her cruel husband to be a better man. After the death of her husband and sons, she manage to enter the convent which she desires so when she was still little girl.

Let us not forget that Christmas is first and foremost about Christ Jesus. We are all saved because He was born on December 25. Thank you Jesus! Belated Happy Birthday!

I love my childhood best friend, known her since Grade 1.

This will make me stop eating in fast-food chains now. (I hope.)

I want to get married again and make my husband do this in our wedding.

Leah Darrow is really inspiring…
