My long weekend started this Thursday. It as timely that it was husband’s off day as well. We often prefer to chill at home, watch movies or tv series and order take-outs rather than going out. And that is just what we did last Thursday.

We decided to watch the DBS 6-part mini-series while enjoying our take-out from Deliver. It was a perfect way to spend our lazy Thursday afternoon.

DBS Sparks is a mini-series launched by the leading innovative Singaporean bank, the Development Bank of Singapore to challenge the perception of banking from the status quo. It follows the lives of young and very good-looking bankers as they take on the challenges of banking and their personal lives. This mini-series illustrates wha real banking is and not what most people perceive it to be. It is going beyond paperworks, transactions and sitting on a table counting money. This mini-series reflects the bank’s objective  to integrate banking with the customers’ everyday lives and going a mile to help customers with their goals and dreams. In the series, one of the characters say, “You bank to live, not live to bank“. DBS are inspired from their customers that spark them to create products that are simple, fast, smart, efficient  and effortless to allow their valuable clients more time and space for what truly matters. As they say, Live More, Bank Less.

DBS Sparks Mini-Series is very interesting for us to watch because my husband is from a banking background. It is refreshing to see banking done in a positive and holistic way. I like that the series are inspired by true stories encountered by DBS in their years of banking history. It allows people to see banking and bankers in a personal and compassionate way. It touches on friendship, father-daughter relationship, following your dream projects, Ponzi scheme, dementia, social enterprise, education, feminism and of course, there is always a love story. Who doesn’t like a love story? I won’t be telling you the whole story. It is for you to find out.

I must say it was a nice way to spend time with my hubby just chilling while eating our pizza and calzone from the fast and efficient delivery from Deliveroo. Binge-watching a series plus take-out foods equals perfect quality time. Don’t you agree?
