NIGHT OUT IN MANILA: DINNER AT MCKINLEY HILL & MARGARITAS AT AGAVE

November 27, 2011 by Little Miss Honey 1,129 Comments

My sister planned a night out with me & my friends and she brought along some of her friends too. We decided to meet up at Piazza in McKinley Hill. My sis, her friends Marianne & Jill and her boyfriend waited for us at Blackwood. Because it took us a long time to get there, they had a few drinks there  and ordered some appetizers. (Sorry sis and friends for the delay.) When we got there, my sis made us check out the other restos in Piazza…. (I was with fellow doctors/close friends, Mel, Marelaine and Mel’s fiance’s bro, Eds.) Being a Chinese-Thai-Japanese food-lover, it was a no brainer, I picked Little Asia.

The interiors of the resto reminds me more of Russia than Asia, I don’t know why. There are a lot of red velvets and intricate designs. But I do like the touch of inverted lighted umbrellas on the center of the ceiling. My sister and friends loves the whole design of the place, but it’s not my type of style. But good thing, the food is, I later learned, hehe.

Mel, Marelaine, Eds and me picked each a dish.

Mel & Eds picked:

Clay Pot of Seafoods
Beef Spareribs
 Mar picked:
Vietnamese Spicy Crispy Chicken

I enjoyed this dish. It comes with a vinegar sauce. But even without it, it is delish. I think the secret in is in the coating of the chicken. It taste different from the usual crispy fry chicken coating.

Beef Tenderloin with wrapped cheese

This is our favorite, hehe. It has an interesting yummy taste that plays with your tastebuds. The cheese in the tenderloin is a perfect buffer for the rich sauce.

After the sumptuous dinner, we headed to Bonifacio High Street for some drinks. Too bad, Jill and boyfriend have to leave early because they still have work the next day.
Me & my sis
My sister took us to Agave for some Margarita party, hehe….
Marianne, my sis and me ordered the bottomless Margarita (P295). I was so ambisyosa, haha. I can hardly finish one glass, haha. I was never fond of tequila-based drinks or tequila for that matter. But give me a congratulatory tap on the shoulder because I finished two.. Weee! hehe…. Marelaine, Eds and Mel opted for GBS- Gilbey’s Premium Strength. I prefer that better because its gin-based, hehe. But that was a night for choosing the “road less travelled”, naks, hehe. So, margarita, come to mama, haha!
Our friends from Cathay Drug, Victor and Bam joined us later that night and livened up the night even more. But the best part of the night was I get to spend time with my sister who I will miss terribly when I go back to Iloilo…..
It was a fun night for good foods, lots of laughs, mega-bonding, margaritas & gins and just chilling… Cheers to love, happiness, family and friends!!!  And another plus, nobody got pathetically drunk that night, cross my finger, hope to die……hehe….
