BLOGGERS BRUNCHING, STRICTLY PANCAKES

January 24, 2018 by Little Miss Honey 1,175 Comments

Strictly Pancakes

One drizzling Saturday morning, five bloggers meet for brunch. Some were old acquaintances and others became lovely new friends. It was a nice Saturday to do brunching.

The perfect brunch dish would always be pancakes for me. Singapore is not short of pancakes, waffles and Western breakfast restaurants. However, in my book, if you say pancakes, I would always think (and recommend) Strictly Pancakes.

I have frequented Strictly Pancakes ever since I discover it. My hubby and I usually would go to the Upper East Coast branch which is now closed. We went there when he just arrived in Singapore to live with me here, when I was pregnant with our first baby and I also brought my sister & friend to this yummy pancake place. I have wanted to take the kids here because I know they would just love it. I am happy I am back in Strictly Pancakes to enjoy a wonderful spread of brunch yumminess.

Strictly Pancakes

We, bloggers, had our Strictly Pancakes get-together in their branch in Prinsep Street where you find a variety of different restaurant options as well. It is just in front of Pomo Mall, walking distance from Dhouby Gout MRT.

Strictly Pancakes have the passion for comfort food so they offer customers a wide variety delightful pancake meal from sweet to savoury all day long. Who says pancakes should only be eaten in the morning? Their pancakes are made fresh daily. They offer a cozy and welcoming environment that’s perfect for gatherings, or if you’re looking for a place to simply relax in. It is all about creating a fantastic Pancake Experience with them.

Of course, we took load of photos first while sipping our hazelnut lattes. Thank goodness for the natural light streaming from their ceiling, we were happy with the photos we took.

Hazelnut Coffee

The pancakes comes with maple syrup and your choice of butter: regular, rum raisin and garlic butter.

Presenting the food we devoured that day:

Benedict The Thief ($16)

Strictly Pancakes

Strictly Pancakes

Two poached eggs atop turkey ham and two extra thick pancakes finished with hollandaise sauce and asparagus, oozing with stolen heavenly perfection! It looks like a very posh ‘atas’ dish and it was a very filling one.

Garlic Buttered Pancakes ($17)

Strictly Pancakes

Strictly Pancakes

Medium stack (3 pancakes) served with prawns buttered generously with garlic and cherry tomato salad on the side for an aromatic mouth-watering treat. Since I love anything cooked with garlic butter, this is definitely one of my favorite.

Snuggle Up ($16)

Strictly Pancakes

A pair of tasty hotdogs snugly tucked within pancakes, drizzled with maple syrup, caramelized onions and coleslaw on the side for a quick satisfying fix. If you one for a savory treat, this one is for you. Scoop a bit of the carmelized purple onion while you are at, it is absolutely delicious.

The Druggie ($14)

Strictly Pancakes

Indulge in the ultimate chocolate fix with 3 chocolate pancakes served with chocolate ice cream sprinkled with chocolate chips and sliced strawberries topped off with our own homemade chocolate sauce. This is a crowd favorite and a treat for the eyes. It looks so sinful and indulgent, you can’t help but try it.

More For Smores ($14)

Strictly Pancakes

Strictly Pancakes

A twist on a classic. 2 pancakes layered with Nutella and torched marshmallows, topped with homemade salted caramel sauce and chocolate sauce, along with a hearty scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Sweet tooth take note! I prefer this one to the Druggie. Love the smores in between the pancakes! It didn’t feel burnt and I was loving the play of texture.

Chic Wings ($11)

Strictly Pancakes

Strictly Pancakes

8 pieces of a mixture of fried wings and drumlets that are well-seasoned with the right amount of spices for a kick. If you prefer a non-pancake order, get this one. The spices just makes this chicken wings extraordinary.

It was a delightful get-together between bloggers. I can’t wait to come back to Strictly Pancakes again with my family too.

THINGS THAT INSPIRED ME THIS WEEK

Foot Soak Flare Wellness

This week was a very productive week for me. On Tuesday, I headed to Bugis Cube for the first of three facial sessions with Flare Wellness for our collaboration for Project Transformation. Watch out for that on my blog. It was such a wonderful experience. I felt so relaxed and I even dozed off. It started off with a relaxing foot soak. I will tell you more about it soon.

Though unfortunately after the session, I got stranded in Bugis because MRT broke down and I have to catch a bus along with a lot of people, tired and anxious to get home too. But after two hours of two bus rides, I was finally home. It’s all well that ends well. Read this beautiful article about the train breakdown last Tuesday.

The very next day, it was nice to unwind with a work colleague and headed to Changi Village for dinner, chats about life & plans and this cute 3D Art Iced Latte at Chock Full of  Beans.

This week also I am privileged to meet two of the most popular & distinguished food bloggers here in Singapore: Dr. Leslie Tay, family physician & author of www.ieatishootipost.sg and Daniel Ang, fitness instructor, lecturer & author of www.danielfooddiary.com.

I met them both on two separate occasions and both gave out tips on blogging. I am a fan of their food blogs and after meeting them, I  developed an even deeper admiration & respect for the two gentlemen. I learned  a lot from both of them. I just met Daniel yesterday. Tampines 1 Mall organised 20 lucky persons to be part of the Art of Food Blogging workshop with Daniel Food Diary.

It was a fun afternoon of learning, eating and meeting new people. The foods were amazing! Take a look!

And the best part of my week? It is always will be my baby boy. I am growing more and more in love with this little man. He is so funny and very determined (hahaha, where did he inherited that?). He managed to take 3 steps on his own yesterday. Oh, I am such a proud momma. I wish my hubby saw it too.
