This week, I went back to Singapore to be with my husband and other son. Now, we are a family of four. It was challenging to be travelling alone with my 1 month old son in a 3-hour plane ride. Good thing, Fynn wasn’t a cranky baby and cooperated during the flight. He did cry a few times but not that long. He slept most of the time during the flight. I was also amazed at the kind-hearted people who helped me. There was a guy who helped me with my luggage while I was queueing up to ride the plane. There was also this nice lady beside me on the plane who told me to wake her up if I need anything to reach in the bag in front of me & she carried my handcart box going out of the plane. A kind Malay airport personnel in the immigration area saw me with a baby and took care of our entry to Singapore. While getting my luggages, an elderly Chinese airport personnel approach me if I was travelling alone with my baby and carried my luggages to a trolley. I am touched by their kindness. I was also excited to be reunited with my husband and Naj who was waiting patiently for me and Fynn in the arrival area.
I know it will be challenging for us to be taking care of an active toddler and an infant being breastfed abroad but it is a challenge we are willing to take. We understand parenthood is not an easy task but it is definitely worth it. My husband and I need to be more patient with our kids and we must have good teamwork to survive this. We are glad we do have a nanny here but there will be times that I will be left taking care of the two. Ayayay! We would need a lot of advice and tips from other parents who has done this.

This week is also my parents’ wedding anniversary. They are a testament of a loving partnership in marriage. They are still very much in love with each other after all these year. They still hold hands when they stroll in the mall. They would still get very cute and flirty with each other. My dad would always tell my mother that she is pretty even when she is in her housedress with no makeup on. My mom would always make my dad an example of a great husband that our family and relatives would wish they have met a guy like my dad.
The day after my parent’s anniversary is my dad’s birthday. They all had a fun day at Bearland Resort. My dad is where I got my logical, quiet and patient temperament. I am glad I got to bond with him during my maternity leave. I will miss our exchange in Facebook feed updates, our coffee mornings and bananacue afternoons. I wish him more blessings, happiness, contentment, love and good health. I love you Papa!
