TAYO STATION, NEWEST INDOOR PLAYGROUND IN THE EAST

September 19, 2018 by Little Miss Honey 2,551 Comments

Tayo Station

During the school holiday, we visited Tayo Station, the newest playground in the East. Tayo Station – the first Tayo character-based indoor playground in Southeast Asia. This marks the opening of the first Tayo Station in Singapore and Southeast Asia outside of South Korea.

My two toddlers were so excited when I told them we are going to Tayo Station because they love Tayo the Little Bus and their friends. They love watching the Tayo cartoons. They keep seeing the Tayo Tayo Song as we headed to Tayo Station. Fynn even said he is giving up his to be Batman, he rather be Tayo the Little Bus.

Tayo Station is  revamped playground in Downtown East E!hub where Explorer Kid was previously at. It is conveniently near our place so I can foresee we will have having lots of trips to Tayo Station.

Tayo Station

We entered Tayo Station and they checked our temperature first to ensure we are not sick so we would infect other kids. There was an ares to leave our shoes as well rented lockers to leave our stuff in. Make sure to bring your socks when entering the premises. If you forgot yours, they also sell socks for adults and kids.

Tayo Station is a spacious playground for big and small kids to enjoy, with several sections:

1. Tayo’s Road Circuit – This is my kid’s favorite. It is a creative child-sized street scene filled with fun spaces like the Garage, Wash n’ Go and Gas Pump Kiosk for the little ones to cruise around in their chosen vehicles. Kids get to learn various road signs and basic road safety rules. There are benches there for parents to sit and see their kids zoom around.

2. Poco’s Hanoki Play –  This is an area that provides a sensory experience that emulate sand play using freshly-imported Hinoki wood cubes from South Korea. These aromatic and clean cubes, besides widely known for their health and skinbenefits, provides an uplifting mood. Also found at Pororo Park.

5. Gani’s Playground – This is my 4 year’s old 2nd favorite area. He love climbing in the 3-storey play area with two long slides. This is best for older kids.

7. Rainbow Lounge – There is a sunken area in the middle of Tayo Station for a little break to catch the latest Tayo Little Bus show.

Tayo Station

8. Chill Zone – This is a space for parents and guardian to chill with free Wifi.

EXPLORER KID

August 17, 2016 by Little Miss Honey 2,344 Comments

Explorer Kid

Looking at our 2-year-old son play with his toys and running all around, my husband and I are amazed of the glee we see on his face. We observed a childlike concentration and focus in him as he quietly plays with his favorite cars. My husband asked me while observing our kid, “What is he thinking about? What goes on in his head when he plays?”

My hubby and I prefer him to play with his toys and run around rather than spending hours on gadgets like smartphones & tablets. We look for ways to get him to be active and release that toddler energy into play.

One day, my hubby discovered this indoor  playground near our area, Explorer Kid in Downtown East Mall. He took Naj there in his off day to have a father & son bonding date. (I became a third-wheel in their father-son date when I followed them there after my work.)

There is a Mega Slide there for the big kids but our adventurous toddler wasn’t scared on going up and down the cushioned maze-like slides. I tried going with him several times. It was exhausting to keep up with the energy of our 2 year old, haha. I was sweating like crazy. It was a great exercise for me, haha.

There was also Ball Pool area. There is a bigger for the bigger kids and another for smaller ones. The bigger ball pool contains white plastic balls and there are lights below dancing with the music.

There is a spacious area for little ones where they can play inside wooden houses if they want to pretend that they are banker,  petshop owner etc. They also have little animal rockers, a lot of cushioned blocks and a Tree slide.

Another free day for me, I took my 2 kids this time to Explorer Kid. I let Naj play in the toddler area where there is a smaller cushioned maze slide landing on multicolored plastic balls. I let him go crazy going up and down the slide while I play with Fynn or nurse him in the baby room which is also used as the baby changing room.

Some children or adult companions can stay in the TV corner to watch childrens’ show. I also learned you can hold birthday parties in Explorer Kid. It gives us an option for my kids’ upcoming birthdays.

Explorer Kid

There is also a Sand Room where there are two circular structure filled with kinetic sand and sand mold formers. Naj love this area too. If your kid cannot reach the sand, there are stools for them to step on.

Once kids get too thirsty from the running and climbing, Explorer Kid sells drinks too. They also sell socks in case you didn’t socks with you which is required upon entering the premises.

Explorer Kid is definitely one of Naj’s happy place too and I think mine as well. I am sure Fynn will enjoy Explorer Kid as well once he learns to run, climb and slide just like his Manong.
