I was having a major cupcake cravings. It so happens I was in Concorde Shopping Mall in Outram for a collaboration project. After my meeting was done, I headed to nearby hip Tiong Bahru to grab me some yummy cupcakes.

One of my favourite cupcake shop is found at the heart of Tiong Bahru called Plain Vanilla Bakery. I love the ambiance in Plain Vanilla. The place is  so adorable and cute. I love the whole decor  of the cupcake shop  It just makes you feel so happy and relax whenever you enter the place.

There is a wide al-fresco space area for customers to hang-out and eat their cupcakes. There is one tall table and another attached tables for sharing which is a great excuse to take to new people. If the sharing table is occupied, you can sit in the little nook on the side with pillows. There are pretty mint-green bicycles (not to be used) parked outside with dried baby breaths hanging on the outside ceiling and a swing. There are beautiful abstract paintings on the wall and a toy wooden horse on the side. You can grab free lemon water and napkins provided on the side as well. I do wish they provided more table though because there seem to be an awful large space outside.

There were some goods that were displayed for selling outside like theses yummy-looking spread.

Inside the shop proper are more stuff being sold. There are mason jars, wooden utensils, paper straws, pastries’ ingredient in a jar, granola, pillows and many novelty stuff. I bought some mason jars there. I love their stuff.

And of course, there are cupcakes. All of them looks so delicious to eat. Single cupcakes cost $3.90 while Half Dozen cost $22.00. Muffins cost $4.00 each and cake slices prices starts at $7.50. They also serve drinks like coffee, tea, cold-pressed juices and lemonade.

  

I ate one Salted-Caramel cupcake in the shop and got one box to-go for my family.

I love their packaging. I like the cupcakes at Plain Vanilla Bakery because the texture is moist, not dry. It is also not overly sweet and the toppings are done in absolute perfection.

So if you have a sudden attack of cupcake cravings, I suggest you go to Plain Vanilla Bakery from some of these yummy treats.

We bake daily but we need some notice: next-day orders by 4pm the day before (non-customised cupcakes only); delivery orders at least two days in advance; and customisation orders require up to five days’ notice, depending on the customisation.
