PRODUCT REVIEW: BOURJOIS HEALTHY BALANCE UNIFYING POWDER

July 18, 2013 by Little Miss Honey 546 Comments

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

My favorite Maybelline Pure Minerals face powder just hit pan and I decided to try something different this time. I was planning to purchasing the Maybelline Dream Matte powder because of so many raves of you-tubers  on that poduct. But I can’t seem to find a correct shade for me. When I stumbled into the Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying powder in the pharmacy. It’s texture is quite similar to the Dream Matte powder of Maybelline but with a shade that matches my complexion. I decided get one. I wasn’t familiar with the Bourjois brand until I saw it in Nicole’s of The Unseen Life Blog .

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

Bourjois is a one of the little high-end brands found in the pharmacy that is made in Paris. Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying powder promises a 10-Hr matte and radiant complexion. It’s main ingredient for hydration from Asian fruit extracts. It has three shades: vanilla, light beige and medium beige. It is hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic and dermatologically tested.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

When I used it, I used it will the small remainder of crumbled powder from Maybelline Pure Minerals Compact Powder. Normally after work or by 12 noon, my face will resemble a grease pan if I don’t retouch or blot. But on the day I used Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying powder, I wasn’t able to retouch during lunch time, I was surprised to see my face after work at 5PM that my makeup stayed on, matte and intact.

PROS:

1. Lasting power

2. It has a smooth texture and light feel on the skin.

3. It has a nice fruity scent.

4. It has the shade for my complexion.

5. It didn’t break me out.

CONS:

1. It doesn’t come with a sponge or brush. I usually use it my Nichido kabuki brush when I use this powder

2. It has limited shade choices, usually more on the yellow tones and less options for pinkish-tone complexion.

3. If used alone without concealer, or foundation there is a tinge of ashiness on the skin.

Will I purchase this again?

I will definitely will. I am not sure if I will forsake my Maybelline Pure Minerals Powder Fondation totally but I might use it conjunction with this. Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder is a perfect finishing powder that locks your makeup to place.
