My hair was at its awkward length. Should I let it grow longer or get a hair cut? I know I should avoid hair dyes now that I am pregnant. Hmmm…. Hmmmm…. Decisions, Decisions…. But I know I want a change in my hair style. Something different.

A few weeks ago I went to Poise Hair Studio located conveniently near Dhouby Gout MRT near Cathay. It occupies the same space with Home Nails. The place looked so posh and sophisticated. All the stylists looked like they all came out from a cool fashion magazine.

I love their white comfortable soft chairs. I was seated in one of the chairs facing a floor-length mirror with no table in front on me to knock against my knees if I felt like crossing my legs. I like that. The salon staff even offered to put my bag in a cubicle so I can sit comfortably.

I was attended by Master Stylist Qvin who had more than 8 years of experience in hair styling. He assessed my hair with much precision and attention. You can tell that this guy knew what he is doing.

He said that he will give me a “bob” hairstyle and a scalp treatment. The Bob is a hairstyle which is cut short surrounding the head, popularized by Jennifer Aniston in her character “Rachel” in Friends. I trusted him and said “Ok!”

Then Qvin worked his magic on my hair. Chop! Chop! There goes my hair on the floor. I panicked. Is it going to be really short? He assured me that it will not be really short and it will be fine. And I breathed a sigh of relief.

After my hair cut was almost done, I started on my scalp treatment. My scalp is very oily and gets irritated easily. So my scalp and hair really need this. While they use Kerastase treatment on my hair, I also got myself a pretty gelish nail art and gel manicure service . Triple yey!

After less than an hour, the treatment masque was washed off from my hair and I received a quick scalp massage in their comfortable shampoo lounge chair.

Then Qvin blow-dried my hair and made a few final and calculated snips on my hair.

Qvin took his time in perfecting the ends of my hair and the back portion of my hair. And Tada!

I love the final result. Qvin said that this is a very popular haircut in London. It is very chic. It is so different from my usual hair length and I love it. I need the change! The next day, I even got a lot of compliments from my co-workers & friends that the bob hairstyle makes me look younger.

Who wouldn’t like that, right?
