After a little tour in Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, the next question is, ‘Where to eat?’ We learned of this new hawker place nearby Gardens by the Bay: Satay by the Bay. It is hidden in a walkable distance from the Gardens by the Bay. And yes, their specialty: Satay!!!
Satay is an Indonesian food similar to the Filipino barbecue, grilled meat in thin bamboo sticks. The Indonesian twist of this dish from the Filipino barbecue is its yummy peanut sauce dip.
SATAY
There are several satay stands and the air is filled with satay-smelling smoke. We choose satay stand that has the most people crowding over for their orders. We think that is a good indicator that this place is good. We ordered at Sri Geylang Sate. We weren’t disappointed. 10 sticks cost $7. It comes with cucumber and onion and of course whats a satay without its peanut sauce dip. Good news to my Muslim friends, Sri Geylang serves halal food.
CHICKEN BARBEQUE
We also got chicken barbecue. It was also satisfying especially with the chilli sauce. Though, I think the chicken barbecue in Food Republic is still the best chicken barbecue for me.
PRAWN OMELETTE
I love fluffy omelette and the stall in Satay by the Bay makes lovely fluffy prawn omelette. This complete our simple dinner by the bay.
Satay by the Bay is a great place to entertain friends during the a relaxing weekends with good foods and drinks. We also saw a buffet steamboat there. That is something we will definitely try when we go back there.
