I am no stranger to using DBS Paylah. It was my group of doctor friends who I meet up every few months for catch up that taught me all about DBS Paylah. After our  sumptuous meals to some new Atas restaurant of choice, we would divide the bill among ourselves. Normally, one would pay through her credit card while we all send her money through Paylah.

How? So easy! Just download the app, DBS Paylah in App Store or Google Playstore if you have a DBS or POSB Account. Sign in and create your account with password in the app. Then deposit an amount from your POSB or DBS bank acccount into your Paylah. Then all you have to do is enter the amount then send through the mobile number of whom you are sending. You can even send as e-Ang Bao! I love it! I usually do that. Then they will receive the payment in their own Paylah account.

After discovering DBS Paylah, I’ve been using it also when I pay for my cab rides. I just ask for the taxi’s QR code, I scan with my phone and viola! Cab fare is paid!

So I was excited to know that DBS has recently launched the PayLah! Hawker Food Trail and I got to try out the ‘Scan to Pay’ function at hawker centres. I am so happy that hawkers now accept Paylah payments. I hate bringing cash sometimes so it is just very convenient to have my phone to do the paying.

Last Saturday, after I was done with my passport renewal, I tagged my kids along to visit one of the touristy hawkers in Singapore, Maxwell Centre near Chinatown. I know it was a Saturday so I expected very long queues and lots of tourists in the centre. From sugarcane drink kiosk to Western food stalls to  the local Malay food stall, DBS Paylah was accepted! Their QR Code are pasted on the side of their cashier wall. I just scan and payment was accepted. It is very convenient and so easy. Not to mention quite cool too!

We were so famished from queueing and I am too embarrassed showing the broken screen of phone (my kids are the culprit! #mommyproblems) but here are some of the snapshots of my DBS Paylah transactions and some of the food we ordered.

I am so happy that DBS Paylah is becoming a fast-growing tool for a no-fuss paying in Singapore from dining, to cab rides and shopping. I am such a fan of this paying method. No need to carry my heavy bulky wallet and simplify my life by just carrying my smartphone. Do try it and let me know what you think.
