2013 has been an amazing year for me. It felt so happy and ecstatic by all the generous blessings God has bestowed upon me. Though 2013 has its own trials and difficulties but in totality, 2013 was a great year.
I love making gratefulness lists. I usually make one every end of the month to show how grateful I am of the blessings, together with a list of my goals for the next month. This practice had made my life more bountiful. For 2013, I also made a summary list of things I am grateful for.
1.) In 2013, I have officially made it to one year of living, surviving and thriving in a foreign country. Living in Singapore alone away from my loved-ones was a challenging and learning experience. It had made me learn to be stronger, flexible and open to adventures lurking in every corner. I also gained new friends that I will be happy to call my old friends in years to come. I also have learned who my real friends are who have sticked it out & supported me through thick & thin. It was also nice to experience living alone single in a foreign country before actually becoming a twosome with my now hubby.
2.) This year marks the start of my life with my awesome partner, my best friend and my adventure buddy. This year I became a Mrs! Yikes! Scary, exciting and downright happy happy! My hubby is such an unexpected gift from God in my life. God knows me so much that he gave me a guy who complements me and inspire me to be a better person everyday. J, you are one of the best blessing I have received this 2013. You are such an amazing person. I wish people will get to know you more and see what wonderful person you are. I see your strength, your perseverance, your lovely soul and loyalty.
We had the wedding that we wanted. We have saved and planned for this for more than a year. We were so happy with the outcome. It will be one of our happy memories. If you want to revisit our happy day, pls click this.
3.) After the wedding, we get to go to our honeymoon in three places – HongKong, Macau & Singapore. It was our first trip outside of the Philippines together. We had such a blast.! Unlike some of the horror stories of honeymoon disasters where the newlyweds get in terrible fights during the honeymoon where they realised how incompatible they are, we have none of those. Even the persistent heavy downpour of rain in HongKong didn’t get us down. We are enjoying every moment of our honeymoon.
4.) I went back to Singapore for work while my hubby has to settle some stuff in the Philippines before joining me in Singapore. This time before I officially become a ‘real’ wifey, I got to spend a lovely week with my one & only sister here in Singapore. It was a perfect time for us to bond and strengthen our friendship. We may be too different but we are each other’s bff. I wouldn’t know what to do if I don’t have her in my life. I love you, sissy! We get to have our no-holds-barred binge eating, non-stop talks about life & nonsense and we even get to watch a real Broadway musical play – The Phantom of the Opera.
4.) Finally, finally, my hubby gets to join me in Singapore! Reunited and it feels so good…. Hahaha! His pass was easily approved and in a few months, he got a job considering the competitive employment market now in Singapore. His work hours are also perfectly synced with my work hours because we get to spend weekends together.
5.) If all of those I mentioned, I thought I was already a very lucky girl. But God has saved the last months of the year for the best gift of all. J and I are expecting a baby for 2014!!!! I am overwhelmed with so much gratefulness, excitement and joy. I am so speechless at God’s generosity. Thank you, Father God!
Thank you for those wonderful people who made my 2013 a year to remember. I can’t wait for what 2014 will bring. I just know it will definitely top up my 2013. Hope all have a great New Year! Lets make this year awesome!
