SLEEPING WELL WITH HEVEYA BEDDING ORGANIC PILLOWS

European Bedding

I have some trouble sleeping lately. I takes me a long while to sleep at night. When I do get to sleep, I would wake up in the middle of the night and I would again have trouble going back to sleep. I would feel so groggy and tired the next day. I also often wake up with a bad neck pain. I realized it is because of our old pillows. It is so old that it is almost flat. We also don’t know how to wash our pillows properly. Having two young kids you can imagine what kind of stuff adheres to the surface of our pillows.

So I was excited when European Bedding contacted me to try out their products. They have a good collection of trusted bedding products brand from their very European Bedding as well as Heveya and Belatex.

European Bedding is a premium bedding store in one of my fave areas in Singapore, which is Tiong Bahru. They know the demand for a sleeping system which provides good back support & individualized needs and not only focusing on fancy aesthetics alone. They sell high quality latex mattresses, latex pillows and adjustable slatted bed bases from a wide variety of European brands, all of which are made from natural materials.

The team of European beddings is a small group of expats living in Singapore with passion for quality, eco-friendly products & latex mattresses and advocates of healthy good sleep. We all would love to have a good night sleep at night. And the team of European Bedding aim to bring that to the busy people in Singapore.

As a doctor, I am all for quality sleep because I understand its importance to recharge the body as well as the many benefits of good sleep. That is why it was frustrating for me that past few weeks, I am so sleep-deprived and lacks that much-needed beauty sleep to wake up looking fresh and stress-free.

I was happy to try out the Heveya Organic Traditional Latex Pillows. Pillow size is 68.5 x 38 X 12.5cm. It is bigger than our usual pillows. It is very soft but with a certain adequate firmness. It is 100% pure organic latex with cover.

European Bedding

We have been using it for a week now and I am happy to give it a little review. It provides great support. No stiff neck in the morning. Yipee! It seems to have a natural elasticity which I would guess wouldn’t flatten out easily like usual pillows. I love that it is naturally anti-microbial and dust mite resistant. No chemicals were added. This is just for people who has kids like me. I learned that latex pillows have an open cell structure and are designed with ventilation holes. This ensures good ventilation and moisture regulation for a comfortable sleeping temperature. Bamboo cover, I learned, is a natural eco-friendly fabric which will keep your head and neck dry and cool. And the best news of all, I got the best night sleep when I started using the Heveya Latex pillows.

GETTING MY PRESCRIPTION GLASSES ONLINE AT OTTICA

June 27, 2017 by Little Miss Honey 1,893 Comments

Ottica

I’ll tell you a secret. I am almost blind. You see, I am severely near-sighted. I have horrible myopic eyes. I cannot survive with my contact lens and glasses. Finding my glasses can be a totally irritating. I would often wear my contacts to find my glasses within my arm reach staring at me. Without my glasses, everything in front of me is completely blurry. My eyes are hopeless without my contacts and eyeglasses.

I know that I need to replace my old spectacles but I am to lazy to go to an optical shop. There are a lot of shops here in Singapore but due to my busy schedule, I can’t be bothered to pop into an optical shop and get a new glasses. I know my eyeglass prescription but most optical shops prefer to test it again which can be time-consuming.

I am glad I discovered Ottica. It is an online retailer for prescription eyewear. It means I can buy my prescription eyeglasses from the comforts of my own home. At Ottica, they have created a unique “house of brands” for prescription glasses, designed to give our customers access to the top designers across the globe. Selling glasses online allows them to select their frames from the most trusted brands which gives quality at online prices. Browsing at their selection of eyeglasses, I was impressed with their range of eyeglasses and sunglasses, both of men and women. They have from high-end to affordable eyewear for everyone.

So I became my search for my new spectacles. I want a small,  brown, plastic frame glasses. I was apprehensive at first. How can I buy glasses that I haven’t tried on my face? But good thing, they have this tool in their site where you upload your photo and you can check the glasses you picked fit you.

Ottica

For prescription lenses, there is a box for you to fill in your degree. It was so easy and fast. I got to pick if what kind of casing I wanted to.

I was so excited with my discovery that I also thought of getting sunnies for my husband for Father’s Day. I found a shades that would look great on him. I randomly selected a male face in the option to see how it looks since I don’t have a solo photo of my hubby in my laptop. It looked great! And I chose what kind of color for the lens. I add to cart the items I picked. Yey!

Ottica

In a few days, I was surprised I got the items so fast! I happily tried on my new spectacles. It fits perfectly! It is a 1.5 index standard lens with anti-scratch coating. It came with a sturdy black casing. I could see that the material is of good quality. They also have eyewear from luxury brands like RayBan, Coach, Michael Kors and Burberry.

My hubby’s shades look so cool and lightweight. He is so happy with what I got him. The items came with a card with my name and my eye degree for easy reference for my next purchase.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER ITEMS WITH THE SHOETREE PROJECT

June 21, 2017 by Little Miss Honey 874 Comments

The ShoeTree Project

I was never into leather items or branded items for that matter. I know that statement would raise a few eyebrows from my colleagues at work who found me carrying a few leather bags to work. Hear me out.

Eversince I can remember, I would normally prefer buying non-branded bags as long as it can fit all my stuff (which is a lot) and it looks aesthetically pleasing. Though I have to admit, I would replace my cheap bags every so often because it gets worn out easily much to my husband’s annoyance.

I tell you that working abroad is not for the lighthearted and yes, it can be stressful most often than not. My husband knows how hard I work and proposed that I should buy something for myself, perhaps a nice leather bag, to reward me of my hardwork. So I thought about and I did. I was never into brands but Singapore allowed me a closer view and an easy access to different handbag brands that uses genuine leathercraft.

So one day together with my husband, I entered the shining Mulberry boutique and got myself an Oak Bayswater Mulberry Satchel Bag. It was a symbol of my blood, sweat & tears for working abroad. It was tok pricey for my cheapstakes soul. But I didn’t know purchasing it is akin to having a high maintenance girlfriend. I have to be careful where I store it and where I placed it when going out. It must be covered, conditioned and padded when stored. I have to make sure my rings, my bracelets or any sharp things won’t scratch the sensitive leather surface. I would panic when it rains because it can leave a mark so I would often use an umbrella to cover it, leaving me soaking from the rain instead.

But somehow even after purchasing my first-ever high-maintenance leather bag, it has created a compulsion to acquire a few more leather handbags from other brands. Until I realized that I should stop having too much bags due to the lack of storage plus I now I had a realization why women living abroad tend to accumulate too much designer bags. (But that is another blog post story.)

So I purposedly stopped at my last Michael Kors Saffiano Leather Satchel Bag. I ligated my desire to acquire leather bags, decided to be happy with what I have with a minimalistic attitude and just take better care of all of them so I can see them in good shape even in my old age like a proud mommy. (In case, you are wondering how many designer bags I have, I have 4. Not a lot but that is a lot for my standards.) I researched on the best products to take care of my leather items so they would last and look sparkling new.

I found The ShoeTree Project. The ShoeTree Pro is a startup reinventing the shoe and leather care industry. Most of the leather care products found in boutiques can be quite pricey and I was happy to know that The ShoeTree Project products are affordable. With their online platform, they bring  high quality products and deliver right to the doorsteps of their customers.

The ShoeTree Project

I got to try their  two of our popular product, the Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner & Conditioner ($28.00) and their 100% Horse Hair Brush ($21.90). I can use it for my leather handbags. It can also be used for sofas, couches, leather wallets and shoes. It was timely that my hubby need to replace his shoes for work . He got this nice brown leather shoes.  The Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner a d Conditioner was a great Father’s Day gift for him to help him maintain the quality of his new shoes.

The ShoeTree Project

The Saphir Renovateur Leather Cleaner & Conditioner keeps the leather moisturizes with its component of lanolin, beeswax and natural mink oil. It creates a soft, matte finish. It also works as a cleaner and waterproof your leather items.

The 100% Horse Hair Brush works well as a bag cleaner by brushing it lightly on its surface. It works well with delicate leather and does not easily break. I didnt see any messy stray hairs coming off the brush. It creates a nice shine on my bag.

I am glad I found The ShoeTree Project to keep my leather products in tiptop shape. They ship internationally and good news for those orders within Singapore, the shipping is free.
