BIMMAH SINKHOLE, OMAN

August 30, 2022 by Little Miss Honey

I remembered when I learned I will be leaving my work and life in Singapore 3 years ago, one of my good Singaporean friend who is also blogger is asking me why I am leaving Singapore to work & live in Oman. She was hoping I would still change my mind. She did a few research about Oman. When she realised that I would change my mind, she said that she saw this wonderful structure in the internet about Oman. It was the Bimmah Sinkhole. She said I should visit it when I am there. I promised her that I will definitely will.

There was a week when my colleagues all got three days off. During that three days off, hubby and I decided to check out the Bimmah Sinkhole. It is located the north east coast of Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, in the Dabab area of Wilayat Qurayyat. It is found inside Hawiyat Najm Park. The local municipality created the fenced and toilet-equipped children’s park around the Bimmah Sinkhole along with a stairway leading down to the hole to preserve this wonderful natural structure.

Bimmah Sinkhole is a water-filled natural depression that people often come to wade in water, swim and take photos. When we arrived the place that hot day, we were thee first ones there. Often the place are packed with lots of people, we were told. We swam in the cool waters for an hour or two. The two elder kids were having much fun while our youngest were a bit scared at first but eventually joined us in the water. The water do have a lot of moss, thus it gives it greenish blue colour. There were also little fishes swimming around tickling our feet. There were more people coming so we decided to avoid the crowd and check out other nearby beaches.

There were few more beaches around Quriyat. We explore some of the beaches and the last beach we found, we let the kids swim and play again to their utmost delight.

We know there are more wonderful places to explore here in Oman and we can’t wait to see them. Any recommendations?

7 FUN AND FULFILLING ACTIVITIES YOU CAN ENJOY AT A SENIOR RETIREMENT COMMUNITY

July 14, 2022 by Little Miss Honey

Retirement Community

Some people are quick to point out that seniors’ mindsets have changed significantly over the last several decades. Others say that’s not the case. Instead, society simply has a better understanding of senior citizens’ needs and expectations. Either way, the aging parents and grandparents of today no longer fit into the stereotypes so many people have come to know. They’re enjoying completely different lifestyles and living life to the fullest. As such, modern retirement communities are making every attempt to accommodate those expectations.

Exploring the Exciting Activities of Today’s Retirement Communities

Modern-day seniors can enjoy a range of fun, fulfilling activities at a senior retirement community near me. Sitting idly by in isolation and waiting for their favorite television shows is no longer the norm. Rather, staying social and active is now a way of life. Take a look at some of the possibilities that are available to today’s senior citizens.

1) Enjoying the Spa Circuit

Research shows that monotony can have a profound negative effect on the personality. It can even lead to depression. At the same time, when we don’t look our best, we certainly don’t feel our best. Living from day to day with the same humdrum wardrobe and lackluster hairstyle can destroy a person’s self-esteem. In contrast, having a nice haircut and styling session can work wonders formorale. With that in mind, retirement communities now offer salon and spa experiences.

2) Social Events

Social gatherings are also becoming increasingly common in retirement communities. From casual teas to formal dinner parties, seniors now have ample opportunities to mingle with peers and get to know their neighbors. Those events help to ward off the harmful effects of isolation and allow seniors to forge strong friendships. Some have even led to much-needed romantic relationships.

3) Crafting Classes

An ever-growing number of people enjoy crafting as a hobby. Some have even made it a full-time job and an effective source of income. Considering all the tools and technology now available to the general public, crafters have more ways than ever to find their passions and hone their skills. That concept certainly extends to the senior population. Scrapbooking, woodworking, jewelry making, metalcraft, leather tooling, and countless other crafting options are available. Of course, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching are still on the table as well.

4) Exercise Sessions

Seniors are also taking their health into their own hands these days. For many, that means taking part in exercise classes. Dozens of exercise programs are offered at retirement communities, ranging from walking and swimming to aerobics and yoga. For those who need low-impact options, plenty of tailored physical activities are available as well. All these exercise classes can provide numerous physical and emotional benefits.

5) Academic Exercises

Academics haven’t been left out of the mix, either. Retirement communities offer residents an array of educational sessions and seminars on various topics. They may cover health-related matters, finance, technology, and many other subjects. They’re designed to foster learning and keep seniors’ minds active among other advantages.

6) Field Trips

While retirement communities are continually expanding their repertoires for residents, not all activities have to take place on the premises. As such, these communities arrange for off-site activities as well. Residents may be able to venture out on shopping excursions, trips to museums, plays, concerts, and a long list of other adventures.

7) Gaming

Many modern seniors have a mind for technology. They’ve already become familiar with smartphones, tablets, and other devices. Why not expand those horizons to gaming systems? Games are certainly available to cater to a range of interests, so there’s no end to the potential social, physical, and mental benefits of retirement community gaming sessions.

Leading a Fulfilling Life in Retirement

Today’s seniors are interested in staying physically and mentally active. All these activities and many others can help them do just that. They also provide numerous advantages from heart health to a reduced risk of developing anxiety and depression. Of course, there’s no harm in taking a little time to relax here and there in between social events, exercise classes, and educational seminars.

I TRIED HYPNOTHERAPY AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE

May 20, 2022 by Little Miss Honey

Transformational Therapy

I have always been apprehensive with the thought of hypnotherapy. Is it real science? Will I be brain-washed while I am being put to sleep? If one is weak-minded, they will easily get swayed by the suggestions of the hypnotist? I am so unfamiliar with hypnotherapy that I didn’t seem interested to learn more about it.

But lately, I been hearing so much succes in the field of mental health using hypnotherapy as a tool. I heard of people who are heavy smoker, managed to quit smoking for good because of hypnotherapy and some people have lesser anxiety attacks due to hypnotherapy sessions. My curiosity slowly grew.

I, finally, gave hypnotherapy a shot. I was scared but I been meaning to work on my self-esteem for so long and I am wondering if hypnotherapy will jumpstart my journey towards a better understanding of myself and improve my self-esteem.

I am so glad I found ZIVATHERAPY founded by Yvette Leow that offers Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT). The therapy is a hybrid therapy that has hypnotherapy aspects developed and fine-tuned over thirty years by world-renowned therapist Marisa Peer. It combines the most effective principles of NLP, Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to rewire the subconscious mind and bring unparalleled results in 1-3 sessions. I have heard of Marisa Peer and saw interviews of her. I got excited to be working with Yvette for my self-esteem work. Booking an appointment was easy. I am glad the session will be done online considering the precaution nowadays and Zivatherapy is based in Singapore. I am glad I can do the session in the comforts of my own home here in Oman.

Yvette Leow

On the day of the session, Yvette gently told me what will happen during the session. She advised to me just relax and be open. She was very patient with me and I completely trusted her. When our session started, she ensured I was comfortable and guided me well throughout the session.

It was so amazing! I had so many realisations during the session with Yvette and so many emotions came up. I cried in some portions of the session. I realised that a huge part of my low self-esteem is due to my history of being bullied in school by a gang of girls. I became a people-pleaser until I get so exhausted as I don’t think I deserve attention. Yvette patiently guided me through the session and helped me processed my emotions.

Yvette also created a personalised recording for me to listen to for 21 days to rewire new beliefs to create a transformational change. The session ended within two hours and I felt so energised, confident and motivated to move forward in life after the session.

What was surprising was after the session and the weeks I was listening to the personalised recording every night. I felt a change in myself, gradual and significant. I even felt a positive energy that emanates from my surroundings. I feel my confidence growing as the days goes by. And what happened in the succeeding days were just pure blessings – I got a job offer to transfer to a workplace I been hoping to get in, I started to lose the excess weight I been carrying and my relationships were getting better. I didn’t expect such wonderful results from working on my self-esteem through Rapid Transformational Therapy.
