At Orchard, I noticed this long queue to an old man steel cart. I mean I literally saw 15 people queueing patiently at this man’s cart. What is he selling?
And last Sunday, with my dear friend Mel, the mystery of the man with a long queue to his cart was solved.
This nice old man is selling the popular $1 dollar ice cream. Their version of dirty ice cream in the Philippines. It is a thick rock solid ice cream where he sliced it like a big bar of butter. He has so many flavors to choose from like chocolate, mint chocolate cupid, mango, durian, raspberry ripple, cappucino chips, tin roof brownie and macadamia.
And what makes this different from our dirty ice cream in the Philippines is that: it is serve in a bread! Yes! They put this thick ‘iced’ cream in a rainbow bread.
It can also be served in a wafer. Yup, still the same price: $1 dollar. I choose the mint chico chip ice cream in wafer and Mel choose the mango ice cream in rainbow bread.
We both enjoyed our $1 dollar Singapore ice cream in Orchard! Simple pleasures, hehe…
*To my friends in the Philippines, here is an idea: You can also try putting ice creams in pandesal… I think it will be equally good too…..
