I know that Easter has been weeks ago. This post meant to be a post-Easter reflection. I am a practicing Catholic and I have always loved Easter. It is my next favorite holiday next to New Year. I guess you can see that I am drawn to the aspect of newness and fresh start. So after that 40 days of Lent, Easter Sunday was a day of renewal and second chances. For me, it also made me think of the beauty of letting go. Letting Go of Material Things If you have been reading my blog lately, I have … [Read more...]
FOOD DISCOVERIES: SUPPLY & DEMAND
Being married for three years, my husband and I would often see each other in our home clothes, messy hair and my face devoid of makeup enhancements (believe me that is not a pretty sight, hehe). It is nice from time to time to dress up nicely for each other like just the early days of courtship when we dress to impress each other. Hmmmm...... For our date night a few months ago, we planned to watch a musical play (I'll blog about this very soon) and have an early dinner nearby. I did some … [Read more...]
FOOD DISCOVERIES: WILD HONEY (& WHY MARRIED COUPLES SHOULD HAVE DATE NIGHTS)
A few months ago, hubby and I had our date night on a place I long have wanted to try. Wild Honey is an all-breakfast restaurant located at Mandarin Gallery. Wild Honey features breakfasts from around the world, not just the regular pancakes & waffles. I have never been inside Mandarin Gallery so it's my first time entering the mall when we visited Wild Honey. Wild Honey is tucked in one corner of the mall. It is a spacious restaurant with dim lighting and electic decor … [Read more...]
BOOK OF THE MONTH: ANG DIARY NG LEGAL WIFE
I have to clarify first for those who would readily jump into conclusion that I am having trouble with my marriage. Haha! Nope, I am not in a hopeless marriage but this book caught my eye in a Christian bookstore that I believe some of my friends would benefit from. But before I give them this book as a gift, I have to check first if it would give value to their lives. It is a small thin book but contains a lot of gems to consider for wives. What is interesting about this book is that it is … [Read more...]
A SWEET PROPOSAL
I always say that I am not really into overly-grand and dramatic marriage proposal. Personally, I prefer intimate marriage proposals. I never really like the whole hoopla. Though the efforts of the boyfriend should be commendable and appreciated that it became a big circus spectacle, it does put a lot of pressure for the girl to say "yes" even if she is not really ready. My favourite Hollywood movie marriage proposal was in the movie, Stepmom, when Ed Harris … [Read more...]
TIME IS LOVE: SUPER-LATE POST-VALENTINES MUSINGS
I passed by the City Chain branch days before Valentines Day. I see the shop is in full swing in prepration for Hearts’ Day. I caught a slogan in one of the products they are selling, “Time is Love”. I couldn’t help but agree. There is nothing more precious than time. No amount of roses, chocolates, teddy bears or cards can compensate the value of Time. They say if you love someone, you always have time for them. How true! No matter how busy you are, if someone is important to you, you will … [Read more...]
